I Have a Friend Named Cut-Out

Rick Cut-Out is my friend.

I was board backstage, Rick Cut-Out was next to me and I had a camera phone. When you put all that together you get this:

I love this picture. It made my day. Well maybe not but it's still pretty great. When I showed this to Andrew we agreed that he was in creeper mode in this, jealous Andrew.

The best was when we were backstage on Sunday and one girl noticed that it was in the backstage bathroom! It looked really creepy but so funny at the same time. She thought that if we ever do a Refinery haunted house Rick Cut- Out should be the mysterious thing that pops up everywhere we stop.

Oh Rick Cut-Out

still so funny.

Weekend Review

Singing at church, always the best way to start off the weekend. :

  1. We had a small choir on Saturday we had 10 people. Sunday 8.

At the 6:30 service Andrew and I chose to sit with some friends in the balcony during the service. I remembered from the last service the speaker mention something, at that point we we're back stage. So when he said it at the 6:30 I told Andrew it was time for us to go backstage. To do that we had to go outside and then down a fleet of stairs followed by entering the backstage door. But when we got down there we looked at the window and saw there was no one was back there. I felt so sorry for making him leave the middle of the service for nothing. But once we came to the front entrance of the Refinery we saw the rest of the band going outside. So we basically made a circle part way around the building.

2. The worship.

I loved it so much. There was one song when the lead singer was singing on thing but the choir was doing a series of whoa s. The more he sang the louder and louder the choir got. It sounded beautifully. I absolutely loved it. The opener was great too even though choir didn't sing for it.

You guys are so much fun!! And just to show you how amazing some of them are enjoy these pictures, your welcome.

Ryan is in ATA not me or Sam

Janna!!! ^^^

Kelsy!! ^^

Alex and R.J. don't worry they know I was taking a picture and that it's on the Internet.

What Happened to Spring?

This whole week it has been gloomy. But today was different. Today it rained! I did not even expect it either. Not to mention I was wearing shorts in 65 degree weather. Don't get me wrong I love the rain but I love it more at appropriate times of the year. You know like winter when it's normal. Not spring when there was 80 degree weather the previous week. Weather's weird, I'm just going to leave it at that.

So Close Yet so Far

Once again I bring up the subject of summer, could you blame me? I have only 19 days left. That's right people 19 DAYS!!! I'm so excited I could hardly wait. There is so much going on: Dominican Republic, Summer camp (first time with HSM!!), amazing and awesome friends, etc., etc.,etc. But then again the last week is finals which is 3 half days so technically it's 17 1/2 more days. But still I'm excited. Maybe hopefully I can go to the beach before that since I still have not been yet. May has gone by so fast but also so slow. It's weird how that works out but when you're in school and just finished STAR testing and just want summer to come. It takes a while. All my payments for the Dominican Republic is due Sunday and I am excited to be able to turn in all the money. This year at school I took: English 1, Earth Science, Research and Tech., P.E, Drama Workshop (Drama 2) and Algebra 1. I know I have already said this a million times but I'M SO EXCITED!!!!! :)

Talyor Swift

I love her and her music. And apparently a lot of my other friends do too. This weekend 4 of my friends when to her concert. And according to their blogs and stories, it was incredible. They all agreed that she is an amazing singer, awesome preform er, and truly entertaining. All the pictures and talks about it just made me want to go to one of her concerts myself. That would also be cool to see the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato.

You Own the Weekend-Others, YA BOY!!

I have to we did really awesome, it was epic! I got m.c which was so much fun. If you don't know what that is well I tell you. Jake, Kira and I went on stage and said, "Welcome to You Own the Weekend", "Glad you're here, I'm[name here] and I am a [grade here] at [school here]." Than we ran the game which was a hula dance off which was funny to see. After the Saturday night service we had a dance party. It was way fun and way crazy. I think despite all the stressing, hard work, etc. we really pulled it off. All and all pure awesomeness. :)

To all HSM People

COME TO OJAI!!

It wil be awesome!! :)

Me, myself and I

I Realized a Few Things Today

  1. I got this App on my iTouch called I Heart Radio. It is awesome! I love that I can listen to the radio every where I go.
  2. STAR testing has finally come to an end! So happy. :)
  3. Wearing yellow makes you look bigger on camera; green, smaller. Thank you Cool Facts App for the tip.
  4. 38 days left until the Dominican Republic people! So excited
  5. I'm going to be gone a lot during the summer. More than all the other ones.
  6. There are some BIG crows around the school in the morning.
  7. I love that Kris won American Idol. And all the sudden facebook statuses saying, "Ya Kris!!" I love that he won and love that he loves Jesus, like me!
  8. There was a lot of old people rocking the house on American Idol last night (Kiss, Queen, etc.)
  9. My half birthday is in less than a month. That means I get my permit, yes!
  10. In 50 hours You Own the Weekend- Others will begin.
  11. I got a call from Taffy (HSM band leader) saying that there is a vocals meeting June 2nd. So exciting, I can't wait!!
  12. There is 9 days left of my then it's June! One of the best months of the year.
  13. First day of summer is in a month!
  14. Drops of Jupiter and Calling All Angles by Train- great songs
  15. Hillsong- LOVE IT!!
  16. I still haven't been to the beach yet. That's sad, very sad.
  17. I a doing a monologue from "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown". I'm playing Sally :). Now I thought that we preform them tomorrow so on Tuesday I got a cute dress at Urban Outfitters. But when I asked to go first for the monologues my teacher said that we go Wednesday. Oh well at least I'm ready.
  18. Tomorrow's finally Friday!
  19. I should have chai when I get home. That sounds really good right now.

Why Hello Spring

Thanks so much for bringing me this amazingly beautiful day. It's not too hot nor too cold. It's perfect and I love it! A girl could get used to this 72 degree weather.

Thing I love the most about this awesome weather is this: My school just redid the quad filled with palm trees, beautiful flowers, green grass, and much more. So when I eat my lunch I feel like I'm at the park since I sit in a grass area with flowers and a palm tree that I lean against. It's also nice that I am surrounded by the people that I love so much. Man I love Southern California. :)

The Good, the Bad, and the Sleepy

I am now in Research and Tech for 3 hours today. All thanks to STAR testing. There are some good things about it but also some bad.

Good:

+ I can have my iTouch.

+ Can at least go on the Internet

+ I can have my phone out.

+ Can eat snacks

+ Blogging

Bad:

- Power Point project #1

- Power Point project #2

- No WiFi for my iTouch :(

- Can't go on facebook

- I'm in here for 3 hours

When I showed my friend this list she said that I shouldn't have gone to school. I could have slept in 'till 9 or even 10 (testing 8-11:15). Or maybe even go to Starbucks and breakfast. Oh well.

Post Script- I just turned around and saw that my teacher was sleeping on his desk! That's a first. Not to mention these 2 guys in front on my are laying on the floor, leaning against the wall, feet on their chairs, iPods on, asleep.

You Know What I Really Hate

Going to bed at 9:30 but not being able to sleep until, wait for it.

1:20am!!!!

For some reason I haven't been able to fall asleep very easily. Well I had that problem before but now it's worse. I don't mind that kind of thing during the summer but when I have to wake up at 6:30 to get ready for school at 8:00 it isn't fun. And trust me I know. I have tried everything: relaxing music (works until it turns off), reading, quiet time with God, everything. But none of it seems to work. I really hope I don't have trouble tomorrow night because the next day I have my English STAR testing. So I need to be awake for that. I think the main thin that's causing it is stress or just thoughts in my mind.

  1. You Own the Weekend- It's this weekend!!! There's still a lot to do and no enough time to do it. I hope I'm not the only one from Foothill going.
  2. Drama Workshop- We have been working on our final but we have to preform a monologue Friday. The final isn't due 'till the last week of school and when I am memorizing my monologue my group will go up to me so we can film. It stresses me out I have work to do.
  3. Excitement- I might hang out with a friend all weekend since she is having foot surgery soon, and it's her last weekend of fun.
  4. Addiction- I got a iTouch yesterday, since then I have downloading my songs and getting new apps. I carry it around like it's my phone.
  5. Dreams- I think my other thoughts. The thoughts that are only for me, myself, and I to know about.
  6. The Time- I hate it when I keep looking at the clock. Knowing what time it is stresses me out more.
  7. School- It's almost over. Summer is almost here. May is the slowest month of them all. Summer is so close yet so far.
  8. Awaiting the Weekend- It's going to be so fun. Not to mention we have Monday off. I enjoy 3 day weekends.
  9. To Do- I have a big to do list that needs to be checked off.
  10. even number :)

You Own the Weekend-Tesoro

Some of the Tesoro kids made this supper funny and awesome rap to start off and end the service.

Without a doubt one of the best HSM raps ever. And I know most of it too. I guess that's what you get after seeing it 4 times.

40 Days left

In 40 days I will be boarding a plane to the Dominican Republic. It's crazy really. Then I have about 20 something days left of my freshman year. I think May is the hardest and longest month of them all. I mean the tests, the finals, and of course the anticipation of summer. I'm so excited for this trip I just can't believe I am leaving in 40 days. But we have already established that. Time just go by so dang fast. It's like it's coming then it goes on. I know I already said this but I am so excited for this amazing trip. There is so much work left to do. More meetings, raising money, passport everything. I made some t-shirt designs that I will show at the next meeting so here they are.

My List of Thoughts

*All this week I have to do something or go some wear right after school:

  • Monday 3:00- vocal auditions (But you guys already know about that)
  • Tuesday 3:00- hair cut
  • Wednesday 6:30- Small Groups :)
  • Thursday 4:00- You Own the Weekend meeting
Not to mention I have a Dominican Republic meeting Sunday and then vocals practice Monday after school.

I'm just glad that I haven't had any homework all week, thanks to STAR testing. It's times like this when i really wish for summer and how much I am desperate for it. I haven't been to the beach in probably a year which is sad for someone who lives in southern California. I miss the beach. I know I have said this before but I'll say it again. I am so ready for summer! But it's weird I get out the 19th then leave for the Dominican Republic on the 30th.

* I spent 3 hours in P.E. today because of testing. It was real boring. We played Frisbee golf for about an hour then stayed in the locker room the rest of the time.

* I hate group projects especially when you are given the opportunity to choose your own group. No one ever wants me in their group. This happens all the time. It comes to the point when the teacher has them let me be in their group. I say this because for our drama final we make a film. The teacher announced it a few days ago but didn't ass sign it until today. Little did I know that everyone already made their groups. :(

* You Own the Weekend is next week! I'm so excited but so nerves. I am in charge of songs so I sent out an e-mail the other day a list of 10 songs and asked for them to pick the 4 we should play. I was happy to see people reply back with their choices. But still there is a lot more to plan.

* I have no idea why I brought my Urban Outfitters magazine to school today.

* For some reason I have been wanting to do a photo shoot with some of my friends.

* I love that we are now watching the To Kill a Mocking Bird movie. I love that and the book. i was real annoying that some of my classmates were complain about the the kids being annoying. Talking a lot, little kid voices, looks, etc. I guess it didn't bother me since I saw it last year and that I live with 2 little kids.

* I really wish I had a Mac Book. I have absolutely had it with PC's.

* My dog got a bird a few days ago than yesterday when I was in my parent's room, on the computer there was a huge cricked so she came in and ate it! My hero :).

* I am almost done with my book series that I'm reading which makes me sad. I love those books and makes me sad to see them come to an end. I am thinking of starting the Harry Potter series since I love the movies and all. Pulse I need something to read during reading period. P.S. It's not the Twilight series, I hate Twilight.

* I want STAR testing to end. Like now.

Standard Testing and Requirements

A.K.A STAR testing. It just started today and so far it has been a pain. Not that it's hard actually is was really easy, but I just don't like being in a classroom from 8:00am-11:15am. Today I took my science test. We didn't even start until 8:45 then we had a half hour break then finished at 9:30, I think I could be wrong. Point is we had a lot of extra time in class. I was so tired that I made my grocery list. Then read a few chapters in my book. Tomorrow I have P.E. we don't have a test in that class so I don't know what I'm going to do with 3 hours and 15 minutes in there. Can't do homework since I don't have any, but I will think of something.

Mic Auditions

I had that yesterday but I was so tired when i got home that I didn't even feel like blogging about it. But I'm fine now :), so here's the story:

I sang the song Yes You Have when I started singing and it was weird because I had it prepared one way but I sang it a different way which I thought sounded better as I started singing. Aft4er that they asked me to harmonize the song Hosanna. Now I am a Soprano which means I sing higher so I'm not used to harmonizing. But it turned out great. I must of asked 5 of my friends if I was shacking or sounded shaky. But they all had the same answer, "No way that you sounded awesome!" So I am proud with my performance. I still haven't gotten the results back but as soon as I do I will blog about it. :)

You Own the Weekend- Mission

That's right You Own the Weekend is back once again, this weekend was Mission. They were great decorations, music, everything! They talked about life being complicated and after the game my friend Jake sang this:

Super funny right? Right. In between the Sunday services he told me he was going to go up to me in the audience. So during the 11:15 service I was sitting next to my friend Andrew and told him that. I laughed when he moved a little in his seat after I told him that. But it turns out Jake never came up to me. What he did do was go up to this girl in front of us and was leaning against her and petting her head when she was sitting next to this one guy. Me and Andrew were trying not to laugh because it was just one of the funniest things ever. So if you go to my church and failed to come this weekend, you missed out.

At the end of the service they sang a song that required a lot of energy and lots of dancing, I forget what the song was called though. At this on part it was, "We're ganna dance liked the saved." Now keep in mind that I was sitting with a lot of my guy friends now imagine us freshman dancing to this song, I know right. It was pretty crazy. They even played it again while everyone was leaving so a bunch of people when up on stage to dance along. We were even dancing as we walked out of the high school room. Oh to those awkward church dances. :)

You Own the Weekend-Others

For those of you who don't go to my church or just have no idea what this is well I'll tell you anyways. It is basically a school is given a weekend to run the whole service. Cameras, lights, band, message, etc, etc. No I am apart of the "Others" group which are the students that don't go to Trabuco, Tesoro, El Toro, Mission, or Capo. We had our first meeting today and we had a bunch of great ideas to make our weekend just epic awesomeness. So if you just so happen to go to Foothill come to you own the weekend. It will be huge man HUGE.

Never Seen That Before

>>Today on my ride home from a long day at school I saw something that was just unreal. There was this mail box that was embedded in a brick piller that completely fell over. It was the craziest thing. I mean I didn't see it fall but I did see it flat on the ground.

>>In P.E. all we did was walk around the tack field the hole period while others played softball. And as I was walking I all of the sudden heard something behind me. There was nothing there but a little orange. There wasn't even an orange tree around me. It was so weird. I just figured that a bird dropped it or something since there wasn't anyone behind me.

5 of Some of the Best Things that Happened to me in the Last few Weeks

  1. Being able to go on the Dominican Republic trip.

  2. Singing at church

  3. Meeting all the great new friends I now have. Church and school.

  4. Growing in my relationships (friends and God).

  5. This actually just happened. Remember that book series that I loved and I ordered the 5th book online. Well about a week or 2 ago my mom said that the order got canceled. Sorry mom but you were wrong. I got it in the mail today! It's weird because at first I was supposed to get it Friday. But awesome that I got it today.

Ya Boy!

My day just got better when I received an e-mail showing the winners of the Refinery Student Art Festival:

POETRY Best in Show – The Woman Called Snowglobe – Lexi Smith
Honorable Mention – Maze – Maddy Vujnov
People’s Choice – Jewels – Christina McKinstry

Yes I am so happy. I would like to thank God because He is my inspiration. My friends and family for their support and encouragement. And to all those who voted for me. Yea! You guys rock!

Cookie Time :)

Sometimes I like to bake cookies and bring them to church to share with all of my church friends. But the thing is that I haven't brought them in a long time. My mom said that when I bring them every week it becomes less special. Well she said something like that. But here is the real story. Yesterday when I was just chilln' in the Refinery I got a text from my friend Bryce asking if I was bringing my cookies tonight at church. I had so many questions and comments that I just chose to call him.

Me: Hey Bryce! So I got your text and I just wanted to ask why you were wondering if I was bringing cookies.

Bryce: Well I was talking to Alex and we were both craving cookies and I was hoping you were bring yours.

Me: Oh, well I very sorry but I'm not but I promise I will for sure bring them next week.

Bryce: Sounds great, can't wait. I guess I will see you soon then.

Me: See ya.

To tell you guys the truth I even was debating weather I should make cookies that night before I left for church. Seriously how funny is that we were both thinking of my awesome cookies. :)

Victory is Mine!!!

Yes it's true I finished all my math homework that I missed from being sick. You may not care at all but I am just excited and very tried from it all. I mean going to all 4 services at church, hanging out with friends all weekend, and 2 weeks worth of math takes a lot out of you. Believe me I know. At this point I think I should add a thank you Andrew for helping me out. Even though I already said that on Facebook, and at the Refinery. It was just a little awkward when my friend Haley came over to us while we were working and asked, "So you guys doing a little study thing here, hmm". I have been getting that kind of thing when I made a video for him on Facebook and my friend Chase said, "He he, Andrews got himself a girlfriend." Thanks guys thank you. Insert sarcasum here.

It's May Day!!

I'm not really sure how to celebrate this odd holiday but I will with this blog post.

A few weird things that happened to me today:

>> When I got to school I saw a teacher on a bike which I thought was pretty weird.

>> Out of the blue it started to rain during lunch. That was weird because it was bright and sunny in the morning.

>> During the assembly today 3 weird things happened:

- Some teachers did this dance.

- Our principal rapped

- When they played the song Don't Stop Belevin' my friend Conner and I sang to the entire song. That was really fun actually. We came to the conclusion that that is a) the best dancing song and b) a great song all together

So Happy May Day everyone and I hope you enjoyed this post. :)
