It was in God's Hands

When we got to the church to set up for PDYM on Saturday my friend and I decided to do the Lifehouse skit. We kinda planed on doing it but never got to practice before we left. So we asked the leaders if it was ok and they said yes but there was a catch, we only had 2 hours to practice it! In a hurry we rallied up anyone else that wanted to be apart of the skit and as we went around those who didn't which to join said, "You guys can't pull it off. It took El Toro a month and a half before they were ready." But did we listen to them, heck no.

We finally got everyone and the first thing that hit us was how we were supposed to practice if we didn't have a lap top to view the video on You Tube. A few seconds later one of the leaders from the church we were helping came in with her Mac Book and let us borrow it. F.Y.I we practiced outside in very hot and humid weather. The good news: there was a rotating fan n the celling.

As we practiced we hit yet another problem: costumes. We needed: a robe for God, a flower for the boyfriend, a hat for the guy who represented greed, a bottle and paper bag for the drunk (ME!), a dress for the model, and a hat, knife and marker for the suicide kid. Moments later....we got them from other people :)!

As we were practicing and watching the video we had a problem with timing! We came to the decision that there was a part of the song when she threw down the knife and tried to go to God. All we had to do was wing it until that point. After 2 hours of hard work and dancing, we were ready....or were we? When we got backstage we were so nerves, so many things could go wrong: the song never plays, we don't get to the part in time, everything! All we could do was pray and let God take total control of it. And let me tell ya....WE ROCKED!!! Nothing went wrong! The timing, the movements, everything was perfect! We were so thrilled to hear the cheers of the audience.

After we were done so many people came up to us crying, telling how great it was and how much they were moved! That was the greatest feeling in the world so great, i cried myself :). It was also great to hear from our team when they said that even our team leader was crying, everyone was. When i went up to my friend Bryce he said, "That was amazing! You did so good!". And to all those guys who said we couldn't do it, boy did we show them! Hahaha!

After the trip my friend Jordan put up some pictures of us doing the skit and put them up on facebook. It was good to see all those kind comments such as: "Better than El Toro", "You guys were amazing!" etc. etc.

God is so Great :).

And F.Y.I if you want to see the video go to: www.hsmdr2009.blogspot.com. And remember I played the drunk.

P.S. Sorry for the supper long post. My origanl plan was to just mention the video. But the story was too good to miss. So enjoy and your welcome. ;)
