Tissue Please

Ya I'm sick and at home. It totally sucks too, I'm just glad that I'm not missing much at school. Wait a second this is the first time this year I missed a school day. Wow usually by this time I would have already have been sick twice now. So here i am writing my random thoughts and strange facts. The thing that has been on my mind now is Edgar Allan Poe. In the first semester I read 2 of his stories for English. He didn't cross my mind until I saw an episode of "Ace of Cakes" where they made a cake for a Restaurant called Annabel Lee which is named after a poem he wrote. That poem was actually the last one he wrote before he died. Anyways I thought I would look it up and read it. It was really good, sad but good. You should look it up too. after I read it i decided to read some of his other poems. I really like "A Dream Within a Dream".

I found out from my friend Andrew that the original use for Play-Doh was a wallpaper cleaner. Hmm never thought of that.

Another thing is when I was talking to my friend on facebook and after I typed out my message I wrote "P.S" than I thought, "what dose that even stand for?" So I searched it on Wikipedia and it said it stands for post script. That comes form the Latin term post scriptum which means "after writing". I will have to remember that the next time I write P.S.

I leave you with a Psalm. :)

Psalm 30:11-12

11 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever.

From Thoughs to Words on a Blog

-Now yesterday I had a meeting for the Dominican Republic trip. F.Y.I.-June 30-July 6 I will say good buy to Blog Land and say "hello Dominican Republic, nice to meet you." Also ever since the meeting I am now even more excited for the trip.

-At the meeting I thought it would be cool if my mom would meet some of my church friends. The first was my friend Julia,b but then my mom said that her family and mine have know each other since our moms were still pregnant with us! And to think last month my friend introduced us but we didn't know that we already kind of knew each other. Wow.

-I chose the song for my music video. "Tonight" by the Jonas Brothers! Embarasing, not to me. Amazing, oh yea! :)

- Just now in my attempt to do this -> -, I accidentally did this: =-. So I might as well finish the emoticon. =-).

- Election week has come. It's the first day and am already starting to be covered with "Vote for me!" stuff. Now I have some stickers and a bracelet.

- I am so stoked that I have only one more quarter of my freshman year left! Surviving my freshman year... that would be nice.

- I forgot how much I loved the movie "Kicking and Screaming" until I saw some of it last night.

- I love Starbucks. Even though I drink their Chai tea. It's good anyways. Yesterday I got a Venita iced chai instead of my usual Grandee.

- I ordered the final book to a series that I'm reading. But I have to wait until May because that is when the book comes out. I decided that this is a good time to practice patience.

- I like the Jonas Brothers and strongly dislike Twilight, sue me. But you might already know that.

- I'm real excited to take an art class next year. It will be nice to take a break from acting.

- Like Jack Jonson says, "All of life is in one drop in the ocean". I love that description! I don't know why but I do. I gives such a good illustration for how fast time goes and how short life is.

- I found out that there is going to be a "Kong Fu Panda 2'! I can't wait I loved the first and can't wait to see the second.

- I am thinking of joining the Jr. High band at the church even though I'm not in Jr. High. I love singing at the church and would like to have more chances to do it.

- I am also thinking of of reading the book "Refuel" by Doug Fields. Some of my friends are reading it and I think I should give it a try. Maybe I will bring it for reading period tomorrow.

We <3 Parker

So after the 11:15 service in Wildside(Jr. High) the band played "Burnin' Up" by the Jonas Brothers. The one who was singing it was my friend Parker. So to add to the fun me and some of my friends made an "I Heart Parker" sign. My friend Nikki wanted to go up on stage to sing the rap part but the band didn't know how to play it. Oh well awesome anyways. :)

Rumer has it

I have 2 thoughts about that.

- If this is true..... sucks for Seniors.

PDYM Journal- Day 2

So great first of all. When I got there the thing was still going on so I talked to some friends and did some homework. I was just glad that my friend Andrew is real good at math. Then once they were done the band people put all their stuff in the balcony to do homework. It was nice to have all my work done before practicing. After we were done practicing we ran to the green room to eat. Then we found out we had to stay on stage the whole time. That wasn't to bad they didn't do much. Most of the night was us singing. We did 17 songs total! All songs I knew and loved. Our opener was "Here it Goes". Once again I saw some people recording it. We also went a little longer last night then the other night. At one point in a song I knelt to my Knees worshiping God. It felt incredible! I didn't care rather I was seen on stage. Then some of us singers were going off the stage to break the bread in aw of the Lord. Then we finished off with night with the always amazing song "Take it All". So fun and can't wait to sing again. :)

1,2,3,4 of my Thoughts

Got this kind of idea while reading my friend Erin's blog.

1. My Research and Tech. just announced our new project, a music video. I already have an idea of what I am going to do. Maybe a Jonas Brothers song or Jack Jonson or something like that.

2. I just remembered that when we were singing Viva la Vida on Tuesday night I noticed some of the pastors in the audience video taping. I wonder if one of them is on You Tube right now.

3. I did my monologue today in acting. Since some people were unprepared my teacher said those who were ready could go today for extra credit.

4. The song "Here it Goes" has been stuck in my head all day. Probably because I was lessening to it a lot last night in order to learn it for PDYM tonight.

The PDYM Journal- Day 1

It was so great! I got to the church at 3:30 to practice. Then when we were all done with practice we ran outside where they were serving food. When we were in line they told us that we had to let all the pastors go first. I was trying to be positive about it so I told my friend Andrew that it was the prefect time to practice patience, he agreed. Then a few minutes later they said that there wasn't enough food so they would order pizza. I was fine with having pizza, what I wasn't fine with was that we had to wait until we were done with the opening song Viva la Vida. When the time came to sing we only had to do the Oooowhao's and Mmmm's at the end. So I had to run back stage and go on the risers a fast as I could. So when I sang i was basically out of breath. Then after we ate and sang the first set of songs one of the staff bought us all ice cream! I got and ice cream and soda but then we were told to go back stage for another set of songs! I didn't know what to do so I put my ice cream in the soda cup then ran backstage! Turns out it was a mistake, but we didn't know that for a whole 10-15 minutes maybe. So I got another cup and went to the green room to hang with friends and eat my ice cream. Then we got the real notice and sang. It was such a great night filled with friends, singing and fun. All the things I love. :)

Stay tuned for Friday when I post the second edition of the PDYM journal. :)

God Bless,
Maddy Rose Vujnov

How He Loves Us

He is jealous for me Love's like a hurricane, I am a tree
Bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy
When all of a sudden, I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory and I realize just how beautiful You are and how great your affections are for me.
Oh, how He loves us so
Oh, how He loves us
How He loves us so.

I have heard the song How He Loves Us a bunch of times and always loved it. That just so happened to be one of the songs I am singing at P.D.Y.M. When I was listening to it in the car on the way to dinner. As I was listening to it I was just thinking, "Man, I love this song". But then right in the middle of it the singer was talking about when we have God's love in us we are never the same. And how He loves us is so much it is just so hard to imagine. As she was speaking those words i felt like God was speaking to me through it. I felt like just bursting into song at that moment and throwing my arms in the air in aw of Him. I might have done that if I was driving and I was the only one in the car.

Are You Kidding Me?!

A few days ago at school I thought I was just having my average morning discussion with some friends but then this came up. Apparently in my friend Alex's Spanish class the teacher gave them a quiz. But then it came to her attention that all the questions had to do with Twilight! Seriously people, would someone tell me what is it about Twilight that people are so obsessed with it. I can't escape from it. Everyday at school there is at least one person I see with a Twilight jacket, shirt, etc. Also Some of my friends read the book more than one time.

P.S. Sorry if I offended some of you guys I'm just giving my opinion. Sue me.

To Much on my Plate

For the past few days trying to balance my life. School, homework, projects, essays, monologues to learn, and songs to know for P.D.Y.M., and just trying to contain it all. This really spoke to me and made me feel a lot better.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

God is good! God is great! :)

Romeo & Juliet is Finally Done!

But before we can move on to the amazing book To Kill a Mocking Bird.

There's the essay, the study guide, and the test.

Just when you thought Shakespeare couldn't get any better.

Random Thoughts

- I love Jack Johnson

- I love my dog Cali but you might already know that

- I am going to see the Dominican Republic this summer with HSM for a P.E.A.C.E trip!!!

- I have a wish list of clothes but I know I can't spend any money since I need that for the Dominican Republic

- Today the sophomores will be taking the CAHSEE (California High School Exit Exam) today and tomorrow. That means for everyone else school starts at 10:30!! I think I might go to breakfast on one of those days. Also I don't like the schedule it's weird.

- I am still worried about how I will get my homework done on the days I sing at PDYM. Even though I barley get any homework.

- Another reason why I strongly dislike Twilight is because Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was supposed to come out during the time Twilight did. But they moved it to July 17th because they thought Twilight would wipe it out. Stupid Twilight!

- Once again I will be missing another school dance. Besides I would rather spend my Saturday night at church and with my amazing church friends.

- I still need to learn some songs for PDYM.

- We are reading Romeo and Juliet in English. I is a little confusing with the Shakespeare language. So I got a book that has the original text on the left and the modern text on the right. It has helped me so much. I finally understand it all.

- I know I have said this so many times but I just wish people would comment more. And not just the same people.

- I love that we are having 70 degree weather here. Picked a bad day to wear jeans.

- I still can't believe that Target sells goat milk. I wonder how many people actually buy that. :P

- I have mixed feelings about the new facebook look. Why must it change anyway It was fine the way it was before.

- I like the fact that I can blog in my Research and Tech. class

- I miss the beach :(

It's Starting to Look a Lot Like Spring

I love the winter with all my heart but I can't wait for spring. Today is beautiful spring like weather and I love it! :)I guess I have just been getting tired of wearing jackets and jeans in March. But it's perfect today. No clouds, 70 degrees amazing. I so weird that it was kind of like this in some days in January but hey that's California for ya. So after a few weeks of nothing but cold dark clouds I have just one thing to say. "Boy do I need some Sun."

First in the Room

Since my fifth period class is only a short distance from my sixth I take what I call the "long way". I don't know why but I just don't like being the first one in the classroom. I usually talk to a friend to kill some time.

Names

O.k. I admit it I am so bad at names. I would probibly have to hang out with someone for a day to remember their name. I've always been proud of mine and always loved it. Madison Rose Vujnov. I espesually like my middle, I don't know too many people with the name Rose. I also like the fact that my mom and Grandma both have that name as well. But their is one thing about my name that causes one problem.

You see I go by Maddy and spell it m-a-d-d-y. I really don't like it when people spell it Maddie. For those of you who don't know that's short for Madeline. Some people will even call me that too. I don't like it. So if you ever run into me or want to get my attention please don't call me Madeline. Or if you are commenting on my amazing blog posts don't spell my name Maddie.

Another name that I have, and some may not know is Harly. That's a little nick name that some people at school call me. It's mainly at church where I go by it (long story). Anyways some people will spell it Harley. The reason why I don't like that is because that's how Harley-Davidson spells it. I think it's cool that at church if my friend Bryce is introducing me to someone he says, "This is Maddy you can call her Harly" I never understood why he called me by my real name even though almost all my friends at church called me by my nickname but I like it. F.Y.I. I don't like him we are total friends. :)

Busy Week

I got the news yesterday at choir practice.

I am super happy to say that I will be singing at PDYM(purpose driven youth ministry)!!
I'm so excited and can't wait. I also live the songs we will be singing. Since I blog about every exciting moment in my life here they are:

Viva La Vida (COLDPLAY!!)
Sing, Sing, Sing
We Shine
Savior King
The Stand
Song of the Broken (bridge)

But there is a little problem. I will be singing on 2 school nights. There's homework, studying, and lets not forget SLEEP. I will probably be only doing math, but still it's hard to manage it all. Don't get me wrong I love singing, not having to do homework between it all though. Pulse I will be there all night and don't know when I'm able to work.

The other problem is this. I have been taking singing lessons at the church and have to sing at a recital. Great, but it's the same night as PDYM. Which means I have to miss it. So ya.

Warning: Might not blog on the 24th and 26th due to me singing.

Whoa

The other day I found out that I have 3 more months of my freshmen year. Three more short months. Wow, I don't even know how that happened. It just goes by so fast. Sometimes I wish it would stop. The thought of that made me realize that we have such a short time on this world. My friend Bryce said on facebook, "dream as if you live forever, live as if you die today". But then again only 3 months until summer!! Ah summer, days to do nothing but hang with friends and enjoy it while it lasts. :)

MY 200TH POST!!

To celebrate post number 2-0-0 here are some Jack Bauer jokes that were told at HSM this weekend.

  1. When Jack Bauer was a kid he made him mom finish her vegetables

  2. Jack Bauer sleeps with a pillow under his gun

  3. If everyone on 24 followed Jack Bauer's instructions the show would be called 12

  4. There are 3 main causes of death of tarriest, all of them are Jack Bauer

  5. In L.A. they named a street after him for saving the city many times, but then renamed it since everyone that crossed the street died because no one crosses Jack Bauer and lives.

Stupid E-Mail

So today I checked my e-mail for the first time in 48 hours. I was hoping to get the band schedule to see when the next time I will be singing. But when I checked it all my e-mails were from facebook! Ahh! :(

My Great Day

It didn't have to do with the fact that I had a science and math quiz. Or having to say bye to my mom as she leaves for Seattle with my grandma. Or even the fact that I was starving from first to fifth period. But because of two things that you can read here:

  1. So yesterday in English we took the challenge to say the prologue to Romeo and Juliet one word to each person. If we were able to do this my amazing teacher Mrs. McDermontt would buy us all In-n-Out Double-Doubles and fries! And we did it! While we were enjoying our prize we watched the Romeo and Juliet movie. To bad I had to wait until sixth period.

  2. Every year my school dose a performance where anyone in the school could make up a scene or audition for. It's a little thing we like to call Knights of Originals. Tonight my brother Zac and I will be going to the show. I can't wait!! Pulse a lot of my friends will be going too so I will see them.

I leave you with this paint that I made. It represents God putting clouds in the sky. I love the rain. :)

One Reason Why my English Teacher is so Amazing

So during English we were reading Romeo and Juliet. Apparently one kid fell asleep right in the middle of us reading. Two minutes before the bell rang our teacher, Mrs. McDermott, told us all but the person sleeping to get out of the class room. So we patiently waited in the hall for the bell to ring to see him wake up and see everyone gone. The look on his face when he noticed us gone was priceless. Once he saw us looking out the window we immediately ran for the door then laughed so hard once we were out.

Too Good(and Funny) to Miss

Romeo and Juliet

We are reading that in English. Not as bad as I thought it would be. Today we saw the balcony scene in the movie. Then she showed us the Taylor Swift music video Love Story. First of all, love that song, second I didn't realize how much it ties into the scene. The lyrics, set, a lot of things.

Another Paint

Got this idea from when I saw a bed sheet on urbanoutfiters.com

Paint

Since I didn't have any work to do in research and tech. class I created this masterpiece.

Yes that cute little person is me.
Like it? :)
